Virginia. Well....let’s break it down. We have breathtaking views of the Shenandoah mountains, rivers and valleys, the best wine country in the USA, pretty amazing schools and all four seasons!
Winters are cold and frigid with ice and snow. Heat is always on and I’m always cold. The snow is beautiful when it’s falling and it’s loads of fun to play in but once the freshness wears off and it gets driven in it’s dirty lookin’.
Spring is like a breath of fresh warmer air where all of us Virginians can come out from hibernation. We have a floral heaven with allergies and bugs from hell. Cars are green, yellow or white from all the pollen and there’s signs of new bugs lives everywhere. The cherry blossoms in DC and the dogwoods (our state flower) are sure signs that spring is finally here.
Summers are brutally hot, humid and long. Just like Florida. Windows are always closed with the AC cranked up. While I do enjoy our beach vacation every year, you’d think I’d love and appreciate the hot summers a little more. Naw. Sorry y’all my blood is a little spoiled now.
And then there’s fall. Hallelujah! My most favorite season of all! Crisp air, bon fires, flannels, s’mores, pies, apple picking, boots, scarves, pumpkins, changing leaves, and GATOR FOOTBALL! I may live in this beautiful state of Virginia y’all but my team will always be down south in that swamp!
